Cohousing Conference Recap

Another recap, folks! This one's been long in the coming, it's true -- but it's here! Our members Karen, Maury, and Bea attended the cohousing conference in Colorado, and we've since held a community panel discussion back in Flagstaff to share all those great takeaways from the conference. Here is a selection of the pictures we (mostly Karen) took, of presentations, actual communities, and new friends. Thank you, digital age! And without further ado... RECAP!

Enjoying the Colorado flora (because it's so darned tricky to grow anything here in Flagstaff!) We're about to start the cohousing conference at the Wild Sage cohousing community in Boulder. Check out their website for a great description of what cohousing means.

Wild Sage again. They hosted Bea, Maury, and Karen in Boulder. We spent the day attending workshops on affordability; telling OUR story; and designing our Flagstaff community -- and then got to come home to this! It was a beautiful, welcoming stay.

David Barrett , an inspiring planner, gave us great ideas of how we can make our twin visions of community and sustainability a reality. One of our key takeaways from his presentation? In cohousing, we seek to "Reinvent relationships: to our selves, each other, and the planet." In fact, here is an article he wrote for the Cohousing Association of the United States.
